About Visgard
When I was 11, my mother decided she wanted a dog.

'A scruffy dog,' she declared, and so shortly after we welcomed a Cairn Terrier puppy into the family.

Zola was a true terrier: He had his own agenda, loved to chase, and lived to dig holes in the yard. I didn't know much about dogs, but I taught him how to shake hands and bark on command, which was good enough for me.

After graduating High School, and the subsequent dissolution of school friendships and hobbies, I thought back to the happiness I'd felt when teaching Zola a trick or playing fetch in the yard with him, and decided I wanted a dog to call my own.

I ended up watching countless hours of Border Collies doing agility and tricks on YouTube, and I was sold on the breed. I wanted a do anything, anywhere, anytime kind of dog that was smart and biddable. The breed was a no-brainer.

Spyro came home in March 2019, and introduced me to the wonderful world of Border Collies. I could not ask for a more forgiving and loyal introduction to the breed. He has taught me so much and graciously been my guinea pig for anything and everything I throw at him.

I enjoy Border Collies and Dobermanns for many similar reasons, primarily being their drive, intelligence, and loyalty to their humans.

I currently train, exhibit, and trial my dogs in a number of venues, primarily in Conformation, Obedience, and Rally-O, but we enjoy a bit of everything. Both breeds are highly versatile and it makes me proud to showcase this through their titles!

I am an active member and Secretary of The Dobermann Club of NSW.
